The Domain Name System (DNS) is the phonebook of the Internet. Humans access information online through domain names, like nytimes.com or espn.com. It associates various information with domain names assigned to each of the associated entities. Each website has DNS records that can be modified to associate with other servers. For example, we often have to modify a website’s DNS when setting up new Mailchimp accounts (or other email marketing tool) so that spam blockers can see that Mailchimp has permission to use the domain name it’s sending from. For example., no-reply@infantree.com
